Norwich Fire Victims Community Outreach
The Home School Association (HSA) of St. Patrick's Cathedral School is collecting donations to provide the individuals and families who are victims of the horrible and devastating fire last weekend at the Peachtree Apartments. Our goal is to collect either a gift card for a local grocery store, gas station, eating establishment, local department store or a cash donation which will be applied towards the purchase of gift cards.
Kindly refrain from donating clothes or furniture at the school. You may contact Norwich Human Services directly at 860.823.3778 to establish drop off locations for furniture or clothing.
If you wish to donate to the cause, please submit a cash donation or a check payable to St. Patrick HSA and send it to the school. If you wish to purchase a gift card instead, please obtain it from a local establishment, keeping in mind that many of these fire victims have limited availability or no transportation at all. Please submit donations by Tuesday, May 6, 2008. The HSA will gather all donations and present them to the Director of Norwich Human Services on behalf of the school and parish.
What a wonderful opportunity for us to teach our children to give to those in a less fortunate position.

2009 Mass Book
The 2009 Mass Book is now available in the rectory.
Extraordinary Ministers of Care
We are sorely in need of help in bringing Communion to the convalescent home. It requires an hour of your time once a month. The Ministry is important to those confined. They look forward to your coming. Many of them do not have family members to visit them. If you think that you might be interested, please call the rectory.
Holy Family Gift Shop
The Holy Family Gift Shop, 54 West Main Street, Baltic, has a large selection of First Communion gifts, veils, rosaries, gift sets and Confirmations items available for purchase. They now have Monk's fudge from the Monastary of the Holy Spirit in Conyers, Georgia. They have an assortment of fudges and also have gourmet fruitcake aged for a rich, mellow flavor. Stop by and enjoy! You can call them at 860.822.8241.
Adopt a Student
St. Patrick Cathedral School is asking parishioners to consider adopting a student. Someone willing to pay a tuition or part of a tuition would offer assistance to parents, enabling them to continue the Catholic Education of their child or children. This would be a tremendous act of kindness. We ask God's blessing on anyone who would help a student in this way. We thank parishioners who make this a yearly commitment. The yearly tuition per student is $2,145.00. For more details, please call Mrs. Catherine Reed at 860.889.4174.
Individualized Tutoring for All Subjects Excluding World Languages
Sacred Heart Educational Center at the Academy of the Holy Family, 54 West Main St., Baltic, CT 06330 offers individual tutoring for all school aged children and adults Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. For further information, please contact Sister Mercedes at 860.822.8241.

Your Time is Our Blessing
Love one another as I have loved you. As you do unto the least of your brothers, you do unto me. Familiar words - how can we put them into action? Ministering to the sick and elderly is a good beginning. St. Joseph's Living Center, the only Catholic healthcare facility in the Norwich Diocese, is currently seeking volunteers to join our Vigil Team. If you hear God beckoning you, please give Jo-Ann in Pastoral Care a call at 860.456.1107. Your time is our blessing.
