Prayer for the Year of the Eucharist
Loving God,
you made us your daughters
and sons in baptism.
You nourish us with the sacrament
of your Son's body and blood,
which he gave to us,
as a memorial of his death
and resurrection.
As grain was once scattered
in the fields,
and brought together
to form one loaf,
so gather all your people
together as one.
May we faithfully follow Christ
who poured out his life for us,
that we may offer our lives in loving service
to our brothers and sisters.
May the Eucharist we share
sustain us for our work on Earth,
and lead us to the heavenly banquet
in the eternal feast of heaven,
where you live with your Son
and the Holy Spirit,
one God, forever and ever,
Amen.
